UJI KORELASI ANTARA NILAI AKTIVITAS SUPEROXIDE DISMUTASE DALAM ERITROSIT DENGAN DERAJAT KEPARAHAN AKNE VULGARIS PADA WANITA

ABSTRAK

     Akne vulgaris atau jerawat merupakan penyakit kulit yang paling sering dijumpai di dunia. Hampir seluruh orang pernah menderita jerawat. Stres oksidatif diduga merupakan salah satu faktor dalam patogenesis akne vulgaris. Sistem perlindungan tubuh terhadap stres oksidatif berupa antioksidan endogen yang meliputi komponen enzimatik antara lain Superoxide Dismutase (SOD). Penelitian ini menganalisis korelasi antara nilai aktivitas SOD dalam eritrosit dengan derajat keparahan akne vulgaris pada wanita dewasa.
     Desain penelitian ini bersifat observasional dengan rancangan potong lintang. Berdasarkan perhitungan besar sampel, masing-masing kelompok berjumlah 21. Nilai aktivitas SOD pada eritrosit diukur dengan spektrofotometri (Randox Laboratories Ltd, Crumlin, U.K.; cat. no. SD125).
     Terdapat perbedaan bermakna antara nilai aktivitas SOD pada kelompok akne dan tanpa akne (p<0,001). Uji korelasi nilai aktivitas SOD eritrosit antara kelompok akne vulgaris derajat ringan dengan tanpa akne vulgaris tidak berbeda bermakna (p=0,08), sedangkan perbedaan kelompok akne vulgaris derajat sedang dibanding tanpa akne vulgaris berbeda bermakna (p<0,001). Terdapat perbedaan nilai aktivitas SOD eritrosit yang bermakna (p<0,001) pada kelompok akne vulgaris derajat berat dibandingkan dengan kelompok tanpa akne vulgaris.
     Stres oksidatif ikut berperan dalam patogenesis akne vulgaris. Penambahan obat antioksidan bergunauntuk kombinasi pengobatan akne vulgaris. (MDVI 2011: 38/1; 2-5)

ABSTRACT

      Acne vulgaris is a skin disease most often found in the world, almost everyone suffers from acne. Oxidative stress is thought to be one pathogenesis of acne. Body protection system against oxidative stress in form of endogenous antioxidants including enzymatic components such as Superoxide Dismutase (SOD). This study analyzed the correlation between the activity SOD in erythrocytes with the presence of acne and thedegree of severity of acne vulgaris in adult women.
     This study was observational with cross sectional design. Based on sample calculations, each group consisted of 21 samples. Value of SOD activity in erythrocytes was measured by spectrophotometry (Randox Laboratories Ltd, Crumlin, U.K.; cat. no. SD125).
       There were significant differences between the SOD activity in the group without acne vulgaris and acne vulgaris (p<0,001). No significant correlation (p = 0,08) between groups of mild acne vulgaris and without acne vulgaris. Erythrocytes SOD activity in the group of moderate acne vulgaris showed significant differences (p<0,001) from group without acne vulgaris. There were significant differences (p<0,001) between the group of severe degree acne vulgaris and the group without acne vulgaris.
     Oxidative stress is involved in the pathogenesis of acne vulgaris. The addition of a drug with antioxidant effects may be useful for combination treatment of acne vulgaris. (MDVI 2011: 38/1; 2-5)
